            According to Joh. Eph., EH 4.10, Longinus and two other bishops ordained, with the consent of Paul the Black of Antioch, Theodore as new patriarch of Alexandria in 575. Theodore was archimandrite of a monastery called Rhamnis in the Scete region south-west of Alexandria.
