http://syriaca.org/person/3238
Before his accession to the episcopal throne of Constantinople, Menas, of Alexandrian origin, was director of the hospice of Samson. As patriarch, Menas defended the orthodoxy of the council of Chalcedon and supported Justinian in his condemnation of the Three Chapters and of Origenism, which brought him into repeated conflicts with the Roman bishop Vigilius.5
