“Joseph led, as bishop of the Sasanian capital Ctesiphon, the Church of the East in the mid-6th century. Joh. Eph., EH 6.20, records that Khusrow invited both him and his miaphysite opponent Ahudemmeh for religious disputations. Apparently, the king declared Ahudemmeh as the victor. Joseph was deposed by discontent bishops in the late 560s and died soon afterwards.” 1
