Onesimus - [ Syriac Not Available ]

Onesimus was an early Christian associate of the apostle Paul in Rome. Onesimus had at one point been a slave of Philemon, a point which Paul discussed in his Epistle to Philemon [http://syriaca.org/work/89] . According to tradition, he later became a bishop and was martyred.1
