“A member of the Persian nobility, Mahbodh (Mebodes in the Greek and Syriac sources) was dispatched as an envoy several times during the reigns of Khosrow I and Hormizd IV. Joh. Eph., EH 6.12, records that he led a Persian delegation to Dara in 576 to discuss peace with the Romans; the talks dragged on for more than a year and failed in the end.” 3
