“Sergius was miaphysite bishop of Harran in Roman Mesopotamia and the syncellus, the right-hand man, of Jacob Burd'oyo. Joh. Eph., EH 4.33, mentions that Sergius accompanied Jacob on his final trip to Egypt and died a few days before him in the monastery of Casion on the Egyptian border.” 2
