“بلدة بارض الشام بين حلب والرقة وهي برباليسوس القديمة تسمى في وقتنا مسكنة” 2
“a town in Syria between Aleppo and al-Raqqa, known in antiquity as Perpalisos, it is now called Maskana.” 3
