ܐܰܘ ܩܝܕܪ ܡܶܢ ܕܰܝܪ̈ܳܬܐ ܕܪܝܫ ܥܰܝܢܐ ܕܟܝܪ ܒܡܰܐܬܳܐ ܫܬܺܝܬܳܝܬܐ ܘܡܶܢܗ ܗܘܳܐ ܡܰܟܬܒܳܢܐ ܩܰܫܝܫܐ ܬܳܐܘܡܐ ܫܢܰܬ 636 ܘܐܰܫܩܶܠܘ ܕܰܝܪ̈ܳܝܘܗܝ ܠܕܰܝܪܐ ܕܥܰܡܘܕܐ.1
من اديار جبل راس عين ذكر في المئة السادسة ومنه نشأ المؤرخ القس توما سنة 636 ورحل رهبانه الى دير العمود.2
near Rish ʿAyna, was first mentioned by historians in the sixth century. One of its graduates is the chronicler-priest Thomas, in 636. Its monks later moved to the Pillar Monastery.3
