ܐܝܬ ܗܘܐ ܓܒܪܐ ܚܕ ܬܡܝܗܐ ܘܡܝܬܪܐ. ܕܥܡܪ ܗܘܐ ܒܡܕܒܪܐ ܫܢܝ̈ܐ ܐܪ̈ܒܥܝܢ . ܟܕ ܠܚܡܐ ܠܐ ܐܟܠ ܗܘܐ. ܘܚܡܪܐ ܠܐ ܫܬܐ ܗܘܐ. ܘܠܐ ܦܪܨܘܦܐ ܕܐܢܫܐ ܚܙܐ ܗܘܐ. 1
Il y avait un homme admirable et vertueux, qui demeura dans le désert quarante ans sans manger de pain, ni boire de vin, ni voir de visage d’homme. 1
