ܒܣܡܟܐ ܗܘܿ ܕܒܝܬ ܡܪܝ ܐܘܓܝܢ: ܓܒܪܐ ܕܬܕܡܘܪܬܐ ܚܙܝܢܢ: ܕܐܝܬܘܗܝ ܩܕܝܫܐ ܡܪܝ ܐܫܥܝܐ. ܒܓܢܣܗ ܕܝܢ ܐܝܬܘܗܝ ܡܢ ܚܠܒ ܡܕܝܢܬܐ: ܐܒܘܗܝ ܕܝܢ ܐܝܬܘܗܝ ܗܘ̣ܐ ܫܡܗ ܣܘܡܟܘܣ ܥܬܝܪܐ ܕܛܒ. 1
Au banquet de la maison de Mâr Awgîn nous avons vu un homme admirable, qui était saint Mar Isaïe. Par sa famille il était originaire de la ville d’Alep, le nom de son père était Symmaque, très riche. 1

Le bienheureux vécut quatre-vingt-un ans, dont douze dans le monde, et le reste de sa vie, depuis son jeune âge jusqu’à la vieillesse il laboura avec zèle le champ du Christ. Que ce Dieu au nom duquel il a triomphé fasse demeurer prospérité et paix dans son peuple et dans sa sainte Église… Amen. 1
