“ܒܐܬܪܐ ܕܬܒܐܝܣ ܕܘܟܬܐ ܚܕܐ ܐܝܬܝܗܿ ܕܡܬܩܪܝܐ ܛܒܢܐܣܝܣ. ܘܐܝܬ ܗܘܐ ܬܡܢ ܛܘܒܢܐ ܚܕ ܕܫܡܗ ܗܘܐ ܦܟܘܡܝܣ.” 1

“Dans la région de Thébaïde il y a un lieu appelé Tabennèsis, et il y avait là un bienheureux qui s’appelait Pachôme.” 1
