ܚܘܝܐ ܠܝܛܐ ܘܚܪܡܢܐ ܡܪܝܪܐ ܘܛܪܘܢܐ ܕܠܐ ܪܚܡܐ ܡܟܣܝܡܝܢܘܣ ܪܫܥܝܐ ܟܕ ܫܘܠܛܢܐ ܕܪ̈ܗܘܡܝܐ ܐܚܝܕ ܗܘܐ. ܡܢ ܫܘܪܝܐ ܕܡܠܟܘܬܗ ܐܝܟ ܗܿܘ ܕܥܡ ܐܠܗܐ ܒܡܪܚܘܬܗ ܕܢܬܟܬܫ ܐܬܥܬܕ ܗܘܐ: ܘܝܬܝܪ ܡܢ ܡ̈ܠܟܐ ܕܩܕܡܘ ܒܪܕܘܦܝܐ ܩܫܝܐ ܘܒܓܙܡܐ ܡܪܝܪܐ ܥܠܝܢ ܡܠܐ ܗܘܐ. 1
La vipère maudite, le serpent cruel et le tyran impitoyable et impie, Maximin, qui gouvernait l’Empire romain, dès le début de son règne se prépara comme pour combattre Dieu avec impudence et, plus que les rois précédents, il multiplia les persécutions cruelles et les menaces lourdes contre nous. 1
