ܒܟܠܙܒܢ ܚܒܝܒܝ̈. ܫܦܝܪܐ ܗܝ ܠܕܚܠܝ̈ ܐܠܗܐ ܠܡܬܥܢܝܘ ܒܝ̈ܘܠܦܢܐ ܩܕܝ̈ܫܐ ܕܡܠܦܝܢ ܕܚܠܬ ܐܠܗܐ. ܘܡܗܕܝܢ ܠܢ ܒܐܘܪ̈ܚܬܐ ܬܪ̈ܝܨܬܐ ܕܫܦܪ̈ܢ ܠܐܠܗܐ. 1
En tout temps, mes bien-aimés, il est beau pour ceux qui craignent Dieu de s’occuper des saintes doctrines qui enseignent la crainte de Dieu et nous conduisent par des chemins droits qui plaisent à Dieu. 1

ܢܫܪܐ ܕܝܢ ܡܢ ܗܐ ܡܟܐ. ܟܕ ܡܡܠܟ ܗܘܐ ܦܐܝܘܬ ܡܗܝܡܢܐܝܬ ܙܝܢܘܢ ܗܿܘ ܛܒܝܒܐ ܘܫܦܝܪ ܚܝ̈ܐ ܕܒܐܠܗܐ. ܗܿܘ ܫܘܐ ܒܗܝܡܢܘܬܐ ܘܒܪܚܡܬ ܡܫܝܚܐ ܠܙܟܝܐ ܘܪܒܐ ܩܘܣܛܢܛܝܢܘܣ̣. ܡܬܥܣܩ ܗܘܐ ܕܝܢ ܘܛܒ ܚܿܐܫ. ܒܕܠܐ ܐܝܬ ܗܘܐ ܠܗ ܒܪܐ ܗܿܘ ܕܠܟܘܪܣܝܐ ܕܡܠܟܘܬܐ ܥܬܝܕ ܕܢܐܩܒܠ ܡܢ ܒܬܪܗ. 1
Commençons donc par là, quand règnait avec une foi convenable Zénon, dont la vie en Dieu était célèbre et belle, lui qui était aussi croyant et ami de Dieu que le grand et victorieux Constantin, mais qui était tourmenté et souffrait de ne pas avoir de fils à qui transmettre le trône impérial. 1

Et trois jours plus tard, ils quittèrent cet endroit et vinrent raconter aux Pères ce qu’ils avaient vu. Telles sont la vie et les oeuvres saintes d’Hilaria. Quant à nous, frères chastes et soeurs croyantes, en jalousant les oeuvres des saints, imitons leurs qualités et travaillons aux bonnes actions pour parvenir à la vie éternelle; qu’il arrive que nous en soyons jugés dignes, par la grâce… Amen. 1
