ܚܒܝ̈ܒܝ. ܦܪܘܛܘܢܝܩܝ ܐܢܬܬܗ ܕܩܠܘܕܝܘܣ ܩܣܪ. ܗܿܘ ܕܥܒܕܗ ܛܝܒܪܝܘܣ ܩܣܪ. ܬܪܝܢܐ ܒܡܠܟܘܬܐ ܟܕ ܐܙܠ ܕܢܩܪܒ ܥܡ ܐܣܦ̈ܢܝܐ ܕܡܪܕܘ ܥܠܘܗܝ. ܗܝ ܗܕܐ ܐܢܬܬܐ ܟܕ ܐܝܬܘܗܝ ܫܡܥܘܢ ܪܝܫܐ ܕܫ̈ܠܝܚܐ ܒܪܘܡܝ. ܘܚܙܬܝ ܬܕܡܪ̈ܬܐ ܘܚܝ̈ܠܐ ܕܥܒܕ ܗܘܐ ܒܫܡܗ ܕܡܫܝܚܐ. ܟܦܪܬ ܒܚܢܦܘܬܐ ܕܒܦܬܟܪܐ. 1
Mes bien-aimés, Protonice, la femme du césar Claude, celui que le césar Tibère avait fait second dans l’Empire quand il alla combattre les Espagnols qui s’étaient révoltés contre lui, cette femme, alors que le chef des apôtres Simon était à Rome, vit les prodiges et les miracles qu’il avait faits au nom du Christ et elle renia le paganisme des idoles. 1

Et Jacques, le frère de notre Seigneur, patriarche de Jérusalem, vit de ses yeux cette action, et il l’écrivit et l’envoya à tous les apôtres ses collègues. Et les apôtres eux aussi écrivirent et firent savoir à Jacques les miracles que le Christ accomplissait par leurs mains et ils furent lus devant tous les fils de l’Église. À lui la gloire et sur nous sa miséricorde. Amen. 1
