ܩܕܝܫܐ ܗܢܐ ܡܪܝ ܐܦܪܝܡ ܐܝܬܘܗܝ ܗܘܐ ܒܓܢܣܐ ܣܘܪܝܝܐ. ܐܒܘܗܝ ܕܝܢ ܡܢ ܢܨܝܒܝܢ ܡܕܝܢܬܐ. ܘܐܡܗ ܕܩܕܝܫܐ ܐܝܬܝܗܿ ܗܘܬ ܡܢ ܐܡܝܕ ܡܕܝܢܬܐ. 1
Ce saint Mâr Éphrem était d’une famille syrienne. Son père était de la ville de Nisibe et sa mère était dde la ville d’Amîd. 1

Et plus tard ils le firent sortir et le placèrent sous son église, et une odeur de vie s’exhala de ses os, qui procurait vie et joie à tous les croyants. La mort du saint eut lieu le 15 du mois de Hazîran. Par sa prière et par celle de saint Basile et de tous les saints… dans ce monde et dans celui à venir. 1
