ܠܒܰܪ ܡܶܢ ܐܳܡܝܕ ܕܰܝܪܳܐ ܪܰܒܐ ܘܰܛܒܝܒܳܐ. ܢܦܰܩ ܡܶܢܗ ܐܝܘܰܐܢܝܣ ܩܰܕܡܳܝܐ 755 ܘܐܰܪܒܰܥܣܰܪ ܐܶܦܝܣܩܘ̈ܦܶܐ.2
بظاهر ديار بكر دير عظيم مشهور نشأ منه اياونيس الاول 755+ واربعة عشر اسقفاً3
outside Diyarbakir, is a famous, great monastery. Patriarch John I (d. 775) and fourteen bishops graduated from it.4

Notes

In Dolabani's translation of Barsoum's description ܘܐܰܪܒܰܥܣܰܪ should read ܘܰܐܪܒܰܥܣܰܪ.
In Barsoum's description اياونيس should read ايوانيس.
In Moosa's English translation of Barsoum's description, "775" should be "755."
